The Vancouver Hawks Field Hockey Club is looking for a new Head Coach, and want to get the word out. This is an exciting opportunity to work with North America’s second-largest field hockey club, with over 900 members ranging in age from 3 to 83.

The Hawks support play for a wide variety of members, including youth and adult leagues, recreational and high-performance programs, indoor and outdoor hockey, and everything in between, and look to the Head Coach to lead from the front in coaching activities both on and off the field.

They are responsible for embodying the club's coaching philosophy and instilling it at all levels by educating and supporting the other club coaches. As required, they split their time between planning, organization, and on-field delivery.

If you are passionate about field hockey, committed to player and coach development, and interested in working with a diverse and dynamic community club, you are encouraged to apply. An explanation of what constitutes "umpire abuse" has been added to Downloads. There were a handful of "ump abuse" Rec Cards and Yellow Cards shown in our most recent competitions. A couple of the guilty parties maintained that they weren't verbally abusive of umpires because what they consider "abuse" differs from what other people might think was "abusive."  The VMFHL Bylaws are clear as to what verbal abuse of an official looks like and sounds like.  The page added to downloads gives that definition.

Congratulations to the CUP FINALS Winners from March 29-30 weekend.  Hawks-A beat Lions-A in the PREMIER FINAL.  Lions-B won over Hawks-B in The COMPETITIVE-1 Final, and Hawks-C edged West Vancouver-B in the COMPETITIVE-2 Final.

Congratulations also go to the TROPHY WINNERS in each of the top three divisions. Hawks-A in PREMIER, Hawks-B in COMP-1, and West Vancouver-B in COMP-2.
